Downtown Wolves

Downtown Wolves is Lower Manhattan's youth basketball community, built around great coaching, strong fundamentals, and a commitment to every player.

Led by coaches Maurice Swaby and Serigne Kane, our program offers travel and AAU teams for players from second through tenth grade, along with camps and skill-development sessions.

Our home base, Léman Manhattan Preparatory School, is central to our history. It was here in 2005 that Coach Dave Brown first began mentoring young players under the organization's original name, Five Star Basketball NY. As the Downtown Wolves, we have proudly continued that tradition and have been part of the Léman and Lower Manhattan communities since 2015.

Our Travel (Fall/Winter) and AAU (Spring) teams compete in local weekend tournaments and the Winter 55 Swish League at Basketball City.

What sets Downtown Wolves apart is the energy, passion, and dedication of our coaching team. Every child matters — not only the most advanced players. We strive to develop skilled athletes, great teammates, resilient competitors, and confident young people.
